Introduction
HodieTech ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our live video production platform, mobile applications (LiveSource Camera App), web applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
Personal Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when using our Services, including:
- Account Information: Name, email address, username, password, and organization details when you create an account.
- Profile Information: Your role (director, camera operator, administrator), profile picture, and contact preferences.
- Payment Information: Billing address and payment method details processed through our secure payment providers.
- Communications: Messages, feedback, and support requests you send to us.
Camera and Microphone Data (Mobile App)
The LiveSource mobile app requires access to your device's camera and microphone to provide live streaming functionality:
- Camera: Used to capture live video for streaming to designated events.
- Microphone: Used to capture live audio accompanying the video stream.
Important: Video and audio data is streamed in real-time to our streaming servers using secure protocols (SRT or RTMP) and is not stored on your device. The stream is only transmitted when you actively start a broadcast.
You can revoke camera and microphone permissions at any time through your device's Settings app.
Video and Audio Content
When you use our Services to stream or record events:
- Live Video Streams: Video and audio content captured through your cameras during live productions. Live streams pass through our servers in real-time and are delivered to authorized viewers.
- Recordings: If your organization enables the recording feature for an event, video streams are recorded in HLS format and stored on our cloud servers (Amazon Web Services S3). Recording is an optional feature that must be explicitly enabled per event.
- Event Metadata: Event names, descriptions, schedules, and camera configurations.
Recording Opt-In: Video recordings are only created when your organization explicitly enables the "Recording/VOD" feature for a specific event. Without this feature enabled, video streams pass through our servers in real-time and are not stored.
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our Services:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, pages viewed, and referring URLs.
- Usage Data: Features used, streaming quality, session duration, and interaction patterns.
- Location Data: General location based on IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Services: Deliver live streaming, video switching, recording, and playback functionality.
- Process Transactions: Handle subscriptions, payments, and billing.
- Improve Services: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features, performance, and user experience.
- AI Camera Switching: Our optional AI feature analyzes video frames in real-time to detect object positions (such as ball location in sports) and general person presence to automatically switch between cameras. This processing happens on our streaming servers and is not stored.
- Customer Support: Respond to inquiries and provide technical assistance.
- Communications: Send service updates, security alerts, and promotional materials (with your consent).
- Security: Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
AI and Automated Processing
Our platform offers optional AI-powered camera switching for supported event types (such as sports). When enabled, this feature:
- Object Detection: Detects the position of objects (e.g., a ball in sports events) to follow the action.
- Person Detection: Identifies general human presence and movement patterns to frame shots appropriately.
- Real-Time Processing: Analysis occurs in real-time on our streaming servers; video frames used for AI analysis are not stored separately.
What Our AI Does NOT Do:
- NO facial recognition or biometric identification
- NO audio transcription or speech recognition
- NO identification of specific individuals
- NO creation of profiles based on physical characteristics
- NO sharing of AI analysis data with third parties
AI processing is entirely optional and must be explicitly enabled by your organization for each event. Organizations retain full control over whether to use AI features.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist with hosting, payment processing, analytics, and customer support.

- Organization Members: Other members of your organization as configured by your administrator.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information.

- Organization Control: Organization administrators can delete recordings at any time through the platform dashboard.
Account Deletion: Upon account deletion request, we will remove your personal information and all associated recordings within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Access Control for Video Content
Access to video content is controlled as follows:
- Live Streams: Viewable only by authenticated users with appropriate roles (Directors, Administrators) within the organization that owns the event.
- Recordings: Accessible only to authenticated organization Directors and Administrators. Access is secured via time-limited signed URLs that expire after 4 hours.
- Fan Pages (Optional): If an organization chooses to enable the public "Fan Page" feature for an event, the program output stream becomes publicly viewable. Individual camera sources and recordings remain private unless explicitly shared.
Your Organization's Control: Video content is always controlled by your organization. We do not access, view, or use your video content except as necessary to provide the technical streaming and storage services.
